Like A Wildflower

I was like a wildflower, in an open meadow. I basked in the afternoon sun and watched it let me grow. You, being the explorer that you were, danced around me in the middle of July. With the way it felt, our hands intertwined, I was certain that you'd be mine. The hot summer night's would always be remembered, you picked me first and let me be your adventure.

I was like a wildflower, in between pages of your favourite story. The chapter ended, the season changed, but still you adored me. You kept me safe, I kept you wild, that was all before you changed your mind. You see, flowers are only pretty to look at for a while. So petals are ripped off for love me or love me nots and stems that have been walked all over are left on rainy sidewalks.

  3. "You kept me safe, I kept you wild" is my favorite line, but all the words string together so nicely.

This simile is so beautiful and the imagery captivates the reader I'm in love with you and your words.
